The Foundation for Sustainable Development – FUNDES, was born in 1984, inspired by the vision of Stephan Schmidheiny and Archbishop of Panama, Marcos McGrath, who believed in the impetus of Small and Medium Businesses in Latin America as a contribution to social and economic development.

In order to define the path to take and how to follow it, the FUNDES team has a clear mission and vision to support the sustainable development in the region.
